Ronaldo was 32 years old when he signed for Corinthians. His career was full of amazing stories - he played for the biggest clubs, the Brazilian National Team, he scored amazing and decisive goals, he had knee surgeries, physiotherapy and spent long durations recovering. When he signed for Corinthians, he brought a lot of expectation. The fans were excited to watch the three times world’s best player.

He was decisive several times and registered his name in the club’s history with the two 2009 titles: Paulistao and Brazilian Cup.

The first Ronaldo’s “classic” game was against Palmeiras, at President Prudente. The opposition opened the scoring during the first minutes of the game and Fenômeno, like it was written in the stars, came into the game in the second half to score and tie the result in injury time.

In the state finals, against Santos, he scored two goals - one of them being considered the most beautiful of his career. Corinthians won 3-1, with the first leg’s score of 1-1, Ronaldo’s first title for Timão was confirmed.

Once again, the Pacaembu. Once again, one final. Once again, one title. This time, the Brazilian Cup. In the first game, Ronaldo scored and was crucial in the 2-0 win over Internacional. In the second game, the team drew 2-2 and the striker assisted one of Andre Santos’ goals.

Back in 2010, Copa Libertadores was still the biggest dream for Corithians’ supporters. Fiel (the club’s organized fan group) had Ronaldo. They were placed first in the group stage. Against Cerro Porteño, in Defensores del Chaco stadium, Asuncion, Ronaldo came back from five games without scoring to score the winning goal in the 40th minute.

He tried to change the fate of the club against Flamengo, scoring one of the goals in a 2-1 win. But Corinthians needed a third goal. Although Ronaldo had a great performance, Corinthians were eliminated.

Libertadores seems to have been the thorn in Ronaldo’s side during his time in Corinthians. The following year, the last in his career, the team was eliminated during the first stages of the competition by Tolima. Ronaldo cried but he provided so many tears of joy to the fans.
