Corinthians beat Ferroviaria to become two-time Libertadores champions

Corinthians won the Copa de Libertadores da America for a second time with a 2-0 victory against Ferróviaria.

Giovanna Crivelari and Juliete were the goalscorers on a special night for Corinthians at Estádio Olímpico Atahualpa, in Quito, Ecuador.

Timão come back home with the trophy following a perfect run to glory. With the win in Quito, Corinthians have gone 43 games without losing – the biggest achievement for the football club.

First Half

Corinthians dominated the first 45 minutes, creating several opportunities and constantly threatening the Ferroviária goalkeeper. Corinthians thought they had the lead through Tamires, but the referee disallowed the goal. Victoria Albuquerque and Millene then had good chances to score, but the game got to half-time with the score at 0-0.

Second Half

Timão came back to the game with same intensity, pressing hard and attacking without any fear. 
That persistence paid off as Corinthians finally found the net through Giovanna Crivelari's goal.
Corinthians had the advantage and kept the ball and pressure on their opponents. Moments later, Juliete linked up with Victoria Albuquerque, before smashing the ball into the net, making it 2-0 and the becoming the Libertadores champions once again.

The 2019 Women's Copa de Libertadores title ensures Corinthians qualify for the next main showpiece in 2020, which will be played in Chile.
